Ian Cruickshank is a woodcarver able to hand carve work of the highest quality to match the decorative skills and styles of the past.
In 1987, after working independently for six years, Ian joined forces with established artist Rita Brown to form BC ARTS. Together they design and produce an enormous variety of work, almost anything that is carved, painted and gilded.
The Second World War Memorial Cabinet designed and made for the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors in Parliament Square, London, is an example of their combined skills, as is their Fine Art work of painted sculpture.
Ian has produced architectural carvings for joinery firms, such as Longleys of Crawley, and Venables of Stafford.
Since moving to Wales, their work has been mostly for churches and Cathedrals. They were responsible for putting on an exhibition in the Portsmouth City Museum's Art Gallery, showing their restoration work.
