Andrew Tanser trained with Rattee and Kett (In Cambridge) as an apprentice in stone & wood carving from the age of 16. He has enjoyed the privilege of working on the restoration of some of Britain’s most highly valued buildings.
He has also trained and gained experience in modern industrial design, taking a degree in design and technology and working for some time with a London design company.
This combination of traditional and contemporary training and experience allows Andrew a unique expertise in conceiving and making, with the confidence that he brings all the necessary skills to enable the project from research to completion to the very highest standards.
- Types of work undertaken: Carving (Architectural. Figurative and Heraldic), Sculpture, Lettering – Garden features and bespoke fireplace surrounds
- Materials worked have included: Stone, Slate, Marble, Jade, Alabaster, Wood, Bronze, Clay and Plaster
- Major projects that Andrew has been involved with include. Casting one of the ten Modem Martyr Statues on Westminster Abbey. Hatfield House, House of Lords Pugin’s Ceiling Palace of Westminster,
Sculpture work exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer show 1996.
