Fairhaven and Woods are a stone working company operating two masonry yards in the UK, one in Cambridge, one in Norwich. Our aim is to bring together the craft of masonry, the science of conservation and the art of carving. We employ around 30 staff and our well equipped workshops can handle projects from the domestic to the grandiose.
Tim Crawley is the Master Carver and works with a long established team capable of tackling the largest restoration and new build projects. He has 30 years experience and has worked on the restoration of Westminster Abbey, King’s College Chapel, Ely Cathedral, the Bank of England and the Houses of Parliament among many others.
Recent projects include the award winning reinstatement of the monumental Lion and Unicorn sculptures on Nicholas Hawksmoor’s Church of St George Bloomsbury and the heraldic carvings for Christopher Wren’s Temple Bar, London in 2006. The making of the marble Atlas Fountain for the Elizabethan Garden at Kenilworth Castle completed in 2009, was recently featured in a BBC documentary about English Heritage.
