Clunie Fretton is a classically trained sculptor, carver & gilder, who graduated from City & Guilds of London Art School with a Distinction in Ornamental Woodcarving & Gilding.

Clunie is conversant in both ornamental and figurative carving, and works predominantly in wood, as well as a range of other materials including stone, bronze, plaster and synthetic casting materials. She has a rigorous foundation in technical drawing and the production of sculptural forms, and a strong foundation in letter carving. Her work in the restoration and conservation world as well as in the artistic one grant her sensitivity and understanding when working with Listed buildings and protected or antique objects, as well as in the production of new work.

Clunie’s work is in the collections of: St. George’s Chapel Windsor, the Victoria & Albert Museum, The Houses of Parliament, cathedrals around the UK, and London Livery Companies.
